Residents of Nakulony village, Namalu Sub County in Nakapiripirit district are yet to recover from shock after their area LC 1 chairman scooped himself nine years in Jail for trespassing in his neighbor’s garden of beans.
Raphael Longole was sentenced to 9 years in prison by the High Court sitting in Moroto for raping a neighbours' wife, a one Iriama Agnes on the night of March 28, 2014.
Court also heard that the victim who was robbed of her honey pot glory is a housewife to Lobur Abol a resident of Awoyalira village, Loperoto parish in Namalu Sub County.
Court was told that the horny lad pretended to be drunk, while at the victim’s home and woke up slightly after midnight, tiptoed to the victims' bed, undressed himself and went ahead to have sexual intercourse with the victim.
But when Longok realized the style was unusual and the size not of her man, she woke up and held the rapist by the neck, making an alarm that attracted other neighbors.
Her husband would later report the matter to police.
Prosecution told court that Longok had a miscarriage as a result of the rape incident. Longole pleaded for leniency saying he had 11 children to look after and promised to keep his anaconda under lockdown so it would not scatter anyhow.
Justice Henrietta Wolayo while delivering her ruling said the chairman required a deterrent sentence therefore handing him nine years in jail.
