Police arrests Suspected Killer of Teddy Cheeye

Uganda Police Force has in custody Rogers Kirya, a motorcyclist suspected to have killed Teddy Seezi Cheeye, the former director of economic monitoring in the Internal Security Organisation.

Kirya was arrested from Kinawattaka, a Kampala suburb while riding on a motorcycle registration number UEH 773R. According to police, the number had been identified through CCTV footage captured at Shell Petrol Station on the day Cheeye was killed. 

According to a source at Jinja Road Police station where the suspect is currently detained, traffic police had been on the lookout for the motorcycle following clues on the CCTV footage. Kirya faces charges of causing death through reckless driving. 

According to his daughter, Cheeye a veteran journalist was knocked by a boda boda cyclist ridding UEH 773R as he was taking a walk in Nakawa.
