Bright Muyingo, the Pastor of God's Healing Power Church in Wakiso district is in police custody for allegedly masterminding the robbery of Shillings 20 million from a sheep in his flock.

The thieving pastor was picked up on Saturday together with two accomplices in the robbery.

The Police Professional Standards Unit-PSU spokesperson, Vincent Ssekate says the pastor was arrested from the areas of Katwe after being tracked for a day. "The pastor has been arrested and is in police custody," Ssekate told Howwe.biz.

Their arrest followed a complaint by the robbery victim Danny Kyomuhendo to the Police Professional Standards Unit (PSU) citing mismanagement of her case.  The complaint was forwarded to the newly formed team investigating mismanaged cases.

Fake Muyingo is accused of hiring two police officers identified as Sulaiman Kato and Kasango to rob the victim and lock her up in Katwe police cells, where she spent four days. It is alleged that during interrogation at the PSU headquarters in Naguru, the Policemen implicated Muyingo for having paid them to arrest the victim and release him from custody.

A reliable source in PSU however told us that the suspects had denied being involved in the robbery and named Umar Mwanje and Richard Musumba as Muyingo's accomplices

The duo was also arrested on Saturday and locked up at Katwe Police station. Last week, Kyomuhendo filed a case at PSU after spending days in the cells of Katwe police station where she had gone to report a case of robbery against pastor Muyingo.

Kyomuhendo alleges that she went to Pastor Muyingo's church for prayers, he asked her to bring Shillings 20million for prayers so that the money can multiply severally. Accordingly, unsuspecting Kyomuhendo brought the money. However, two gunmen attacked her and took the money at gunpoint as she was walking with the pastor at 2am in the night towards Busabala praying for it to multiply.

She reported a case at Katwe Police implicating the pastor, saying he was the only one who knew she would be carrying that money. The pastor was arrested and released shortly after. Kyomuhendo was arrested and locked up without any explanation.
