Police in Kabale District has in its coolers a 36 year old uncultured man for allegedly defiling his three year old niece.
Police identified the suspect as Magezi Paul alias Magyeshi a resident of Rutoma cell, Nyabikoni ward, Northern division in Kabale Municipality.
It is alleged that on Tuesday, August 1st at around 8:00am while in the same area of Rutoma, the victim was going to school with other two sisters, along the way; they met the suspect, also paternal uncle who called the victim in unfinished house and had carnal knowledge with her.
The Kigezi Regional police spokesperson Elly Maate has confirmed the incident calling it unfortunate.
“It is unfortunate, for a person who should be safeguarding a child to find that he is the one who defiled her. Pupils reported the matter to the school administration that called the father and reported to police.”
Maate added that Magezi is detained at Kabale central police station and the case is registered under reference number CRB 2189/2017 while investigations are ongoing.
