One person identified as Eric Kyeyune, the LC Chairman of Katabi-Kitubulu village in Entebbe, also Chairman NRM for the same area is dead after being shot by SFC during a combined NRM-DP protest against alleged vote rigging.

Kyeyune was shot dead on Tuesday morning as soldiers attempted to restore calm after the NRM candidate lost the election to victorious Independent candidate Fabrice Rulinda.

However, Rulinda was accused of rigging and the returning officer put to task to announce the NRM candidate Michael Mutebi Kabwama or Democratic Party-DP's Vincent DePaul Kayanja as winners of the Entebbe municipality Mayoral race.

soldiers also shot and seriously injured one Godfrey Baguma, a husband of Scholastica Baguma, a divisional seat contender who now says she has even lost interest in the race.

Trouble started when protestors convened at Entebbe Central Market at 7am on Tuesday morning, demanding that Tolbert Musinguzi the Wakiso Electoral Commission Registrar and Returning Officer announces either Kabwama or Kayanja as official winners.

The NRM candidate Mutebi led protestors from both NRM and DP camps to claim their candidates were rigged out.

SFC soldiers were firing live bullets allegedly targeting Mutebi but Kyeyune who moved in front of him was hit instead. He was rushed to Emmanuel Health Centre by Uganda Red Cross Society volunteers where he has been pronounced dead on arrival.

Micheal Kasigire the Entebbe DPC tried to calm the protestors in vain, leading to joint military police and regular soldiers??? deployment.
By afternoon, protestors were still burning NRM branded t-shirts, posters amidst heavy deployment.
