FDC’s Amuriat Granted UGX 500,000 non cash bail in Kakumiro

Forum for Democratic Change, FDC Party Presidential Candidate Hon. Eng. Patrick Oboi Amuriat (POA) has been granted non cash Bail of UGX 500,000 and is ready to return to the campaign trail Friday.

Amuriat was on Thursday arrested alongside his Driver Michael Emorut and arraigned before Kakumiro Grade One Magistrate Court.

POA was charged with sitting on top of his vehicle at kasalaaba in kibaale District while Emorut was charged with reckless driving. 
Both men were granted non cash Bail of 500,000/- and ordered to return to court on 3rd February 2021. 

The duo which was represented by Counsel Franklin Byekitinisa pleaded not guilty of the charges before magistrate Abdallah Kayiiza the kakumiro grade one magistrate court. 

POA and his campaign team were intercepted at Kasalaba in Buyanja county East - Kibaale District, arrested by Joint Anti terrorism squad under the command of regional Police Commander SP Obura and later taken to Kakumiro Central Police Station from where he was arraigned before court at 7:30pm last evening.

He urged all party members to come out and vote in big numbers on 14th January 2021.

“To fellow members of this great party, we encourage you to rigorously reach out to the population, pass on our message and encourage them to vote FDC. But above all we count on you to protect our vote in these elections” Amuriat said in a video message.
