Uganda Police Force is in trouble again, following an accusation by the National Unity Platform-NUP party Women coordinator in Jinja city, Manjeri Kyebakutika that they tortured her, following her arrest on Sunday evening.

According to available reports, Kyebakutika was picked up shortly after attending the Kyabazinga's coronation anniversary at Igenge palace.

The NUP Coordinator is accused of donning a red beret in public, which is an official army attire. Kyebakutika claims she was never detained at Jinja central police station as reported, but that she was driven to an unknown location where she was tortured unsparingly.

She is currently admitted at Specialist doctor’s Clinic in Jinja City Southern division, where they are treating injuries on her chest and back. Kyebakutika claims that after torturing her, they dumped her on the roadside where she was helped by a passerby

Abbey Ngako the Kiira Region Police Spokesperson could not deny or confirm the accusations, but says the police are investigation to know what really took place on that fateful day.
