Police in Kisoro are investigation circumstances under which a 12 year old child was murdered and his body dumped in a garden.

Elly Maate the Kigezi regional police spokesperson identified the deceased as Duhibanze Godfrey whose disappearance was first reported to police by his father one Muperu Vanansi 43 years.

They are residents of Burakeye village, Mabungo parish Nyarusiza Sub County in kisoro District.

It is alleged that Duhimbaze a pupil at Nyakabaya primary school left home on 1st August 2020 at around 07:30am but did not return. It was until Sunday at around 11:30am when his body was discovered in a garden of sweet potatoes in a nearby village of Nshora.

The boy had been gravely injured. Police visited the scene and conveyed body to kisoro hospital for postmortem.

Also, three suspects were arrested to help police in inquiries. 

Maate identifies the suspects as Nkurunziza Robert 50 years, Kampire Molly 39 years the wife and Nyirarukundo Pamela 22 years members of the same family in whose garden the body was discovered. 

Meanwhile in Rukungiri, police are investigating the sudden death of a one Twesigye Julius male adult aged 64 years, resident of Kamujegye cell, Rwerere parish, Rwerere Town Council in Rukungiri District.

Elly Maate says that the deceased was assisting someone named Mbuyani Justus to split fire wood and carrying alcohol at Ekyambu water stream where the latter was distilling waragi on Friday.

However, when the duo returned to Mbuyani’s home at about 6:30pm, Mbuyani gave the deceased alcohol to drink until about 8:30pm when he left Mbuyani's home for his own house but never reached.

Twesigye’s body was found lying lifeless in Mbuyani’s eucalyptus trees by Mbuyani himself and Baijuka Geresiano about 100metre from Mbuyani's house. 

The deceased’s wife Tushemereirwe Vastina was notified and she immediately reported the matter to Rwerere police which in turn notified Cps Rukungiri.

The body was taken to Rwakabengo Hc3 mortuary pending Post mortem. Police also arrested three suspects to assist in investigations.
