The Forum For Democratic Change, FDC party president Patrick Amuriat Oboi has trashed the words of Capt. Sula Sserunjogi of the UPDF that the force will not serve any other president but H.E Yoweri Museveni.

Speaking at the weekly press conference at the party headquarters in Najjanankumbi, Hon. Amuriat said Sserunjogi is not the military spokesperson and that his opinion did not matter as the army is there to serve at the pleasure of Uganda and her leaders.

"We want the military leadership to come out on this. They should tell us whether the military is only subordinate to Mr. Museveni as an individual. My brother Gen. Muhozi should be able to clarify on this" Amuriat said.

He added that what Captain Sserunjogi said, is that the military is prepared to overthrow the Constitution of Uganda. Amuriat further recommended that Capt. Sserunjogi be taken to the Court Martial for suggesting an overthrow of the Constitution of Uganda. He also wondered why Ugandan should put all their hope in someone that is mortal.

"I think also, a message to Ugandans is that non of us is immortal. It is a grave mistake to invest our hopes in an individual who is mortal. So the question I want to ask Capt. Sserunjogi is that suppose Museveni dropped dead today, would he still be president? What is the military going to do under such circumstances?" He wondered.

He reminded Sserunjogi and his friends who think alike, that military coupes in Africa no longer have the support like back in the day and that a country like Uganda with it's democracy no longer believes in being ruled by the military.
