The police in Pallisa are investigating the murder of a teenage girl whose body was found dumped near the water office along Pallisa-Gogonyo road.
According to Dennis Ochama the Pallisa District Police Commander, the deceased’s lifeless body was found dumped on the road this morning. She is estimated to be between 15 to 18 years of age.
Ochama explains that the girl is suspected to have been killed elsewhere and the body dumped where it was found. He adds that they have commenced investigations to establish how the teenager met her death and her identity.
The victim’s body was completely naked, making it hard for the police to identify her. The body was handed over to Pallisa hospital for postmortem. Area residents indicated they are in fear as such incidents were only heard of in Kampala and didn’t think they would come to their area.
Emokol Onyango the Pallisa Deputy Resident District Commissioner has pledged to work with police to find the killers, and asked residents to volunteer information to police to aid its investigations. He also cautioned girls to desist from moving alone in the night to avoid such scenarios.
