Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has been summoned by Buganda Road Court after he failed to turn up in court on Wednesday for the second time.

The criminal summons was issued by Presiding Magistrate Stella Kamasanyu who also sent out one for David Lule. The decision followed an argument by Prosecution led by Janet Kitimbo, that the absence of the two was stalling the trial.

Kyagulanyi's lawyer, Abdallah Kiwanuka told court that the duo was traveling from up-country and could not make it on time.

However, Kitimbo argued that they had finalized with inquiries and were ready to for disclosure.

Nalukoola Luyimbazi one of the defense lawyers prayed that prosecution will share their evidence such that they can review it before hearing of the case resumes.

Kyagulanyi and four others Julius Katongole, Nyanzi Fred Ssentamu, and Edward Sebufu were last year arrested and charged with disobedience of statutory duty after he held a public meeting that protested the mobile money and social media tax, without notifying police contrary to provisions of the Public Order Management Act.
