Police in Iganga have in custody a woman for killing her husband. Grace Nabatanzi, a resident of Nakalama Sub County in Iganga district is accused of the murder of her 48-year- old husband, Yakubu Kabweine last night.
The suspect was this morning picked up from a sugarcane plantation along Iganga-Mbale high way where she had taken cover after the gruesome incident.
Kabweine is said to have caught the suspect red handed in a sexual act with an unidentified witchdoctor as part of a ritual to cleanse their home. This caused a fight between the couple prompting Nabatanzi to assault Kabweine with a machete killing him instantly.
The couple’s neighbor identified as Mariam Nalubanga says they had invited a witch-doctor who spent three days in their house.
According to James Mubi the Busoga East Police Spokesperson, investigations into the matter are ongoing and the suspect will be taken to court before the end of this week.
Police is also searching for the witch-doctor who will be charged with aiding murder.
